Photography with Purpose – Connect Meet
The event aimed to expose students to real-world applications of photography, with a focus on social responsibility and community engagement.
The programme brought together academicians, environmental practitioners, and students on a common platform for knowledge sharing and meaningful interaction.
Programme Highlights
Chief Guest Address:
Prof.R.Raja Govindasamy, Former Principal, Thiagarajar College, emphasised creative responsibility and the role of education in shaping socially conscious professionals.
Expert Knowledge-Sharing Sessions:
Dr.S.Nagarathinam highlighted the power of photographic documentation in driving social change and global awareness.
Mr.Raveendran Natarajan spoke on nature and bird documentation, stressing biodiversity awareness and environmental responsibility.
Dr.C.Gladious Guna Ranjani encouraged students to see beyond the frame and practise ethical visual storytelling.
Recognition & Awards:
•Certificates and prizes were presented to student volunteers who documented joyful moments during Spreading Smiles – Diwali initiatives.
•Special prizes were awarded to winners of the Art from Waste Competition, recognising creativity and sustainability.
Kalpataru Perspective:
Real-life stories were shared on how photography has supported the livelihoods of underprivileged communities and inspired social giving and community support.
The programme successfully connected students with the concept of Photography with Purpose, motivating them to use their creative skills for social good, livelihood promotion and community upliftment.
