Kalpataru is the only thrift store in Madurai which was initiated in March 2020. The vision behind this initiative is to reduce waste, collect and recycle household/ office items, refurbish, upcycle and sell donated items. We sell these items back in the community to raise funds and utilize these funds to help local community partner agencies for special projects and needs. We have also donated sparingly used clothing for some of the agencies which were in need such as old age homes and child care facilities.

Since our inception, we have received several generous donations of clothes, Old/New furniture, Old/New Electronic Items, Household Decor Items, New Towels, Antique brass, and bronze utensils and decorative pieces, paintings, Showpieces, Toys, books, Old/New Utensils, accessories, Arts, artifacts, household decoratives, and display items, Costume / Artificial Jewellery, Bags, and Leather goods, Upholsteries, Curtains and any other items that can be donated. We have been successfully repurposing the donations and finding a new home for the donations.
